Selland named Summit League player of the week for third time

Letcher native posted 22 points and nine rebounds per game over the past week

South Dakota State University’s Myah Selland was named the Summit League women’s basketball player of the week for the third time this season.

The Letcher native averaged 22 points and nine rebounds per game over the past week to receive the honor. She had a 27-point, 12-rebound double-double in a win over Montana State, which was her fourth double-double of the season. Against Northern Iowa, Selland posted 17 points, six rebounds and four assists.

This season, the redshirt-junior forward has posted 18.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game. She is shooting 50.4 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc.

SDSU (7-2) opens Summit League play at home at 5 p.m. Friday against Western Illinois.
