MITCHELL — The South Dakota Amateur Baseball Association said this week it is accepting proposals for host sites for the 2025 state amateur baseball tournament.

The 2025 tournament will take place Aug. 6-17, and will be the event's 93rd edition.

A proposal form can be acquired by contacting SDABA President Dale Weber. He can be reached by PO Box 616, Salem, S.D., 57058 or by phone at 605-425-2872.

The return deadline for proposals is May 1.

In February, the SDABA announced Mitchell's Cadwell Park will host the 2024 event after already being set as the 2023 host. Mitchell has hosted the tournament each season since 2019. Augustana's Ronken Field was the last site outside of Mitchell to host the 12-day event in 2018.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "Mitchell Republic." Often, the "Mitchell Republic" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
