Schmit had a team-high 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Van Laecken tallied 16 points and 10 assists.

“They both put in solid performances,” MCS girls’ basketball coach Jackie Van Laecken said. “Ashley did a great job of rebounding and Alexa did a good job of seeing the court and hitting open people.”

Cassidy Graham added 18 points and five assists for MCS, which grabbed 19 rebounds.

“I thought the girls did a great job sharing the ball tonight,” Van Laecken said. “We got everyone involved tonight. It is tough to guard us when everybody is scoring. I thought we played some good team basketball.”
