Schedules set for Parkston Classic basketball games

PARKSTON — The schedule for the 40th annual Parkston Classic basketball games is set for Dec. 28 and 30, with six games scheduled for each day at the Parkston Armory.

The schedule includes boys and girls games on each day. The games will begin on Saturday, Dec. 28, with the Bon Homme boys facing Menno at noon, followed by three girls games, starting with Canistota against Redfield, Platte-Geddes against Menno, and Parker facing Scotland. Two boys games will close the day, with Parker facing Platte-Geddes at 6 p.m., and Parkston taking on Warner at 7:30 p.m.

On Monday, Dec. 30, Sully Buttes and Viborg-Hurley will play in back-to-back girls and boys basketball games, starting at noon. Both the Chargers and Cougars' boys teams have been ranked in the Class B polls early in the year. A pair of boys basketball games will follow, with Corsica-Stickney facing McCook Central/Montrose at 3 p.m., followed by Dakota Valley at Mount Vernon/Plankinton at 4:30 p.m. The day ends with two girls games, with the host Trojans facing Warner at 6 p.m. and Mount Vernon/Plankinton battling Class B No. 1-ranked Corsica-Stickney at 7:30 p.m.

Admission to the games is $7 for adults and $5 for students each day.
