Reward out for info on bald eagle killing

STRANDBURG (AP) -- State and national wildlife agencies are offering an reward for information on the fatal shooting of a bald eagle northeast of Watertown.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks Department say the immature bird was shot six miles south and two miles east of Strandburg around Oct. 31.

It was taken to the Bramble Park Zoo in Watertown but had to be euthanized.

Federal and state law protects bald eagles, the national bird. The reward is for information that leads to a conviction. Anonymous calls are taken at 605-885-6403 or 888-OVERBAG.
