Raml captures wins in eight events for Riptide

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Owen Raml came home with a plethora of championship hardware when the Dakota Riptide competed in the Snow Globe Classic swim meet on Dec. 13, 2019.

Raml took home first place in eight events in the 9-10-year-old boys division, picking up wins in the 100-yard backstroke (1 minute, 13.72 seconds), 100 butterfly (1:13.38), 100 freestyle (1:02.76), 100 individual medley (1:15.25), 200 freestyle (2:14.11), 200 individual medley (2:34.60), 50 backstroke (34.54 seconds) and 50 butterfly (32.16 seconds).

Caleb Swanson won the 15-and-over 100 butterfly (53.64 seconds), 200 individual medley (2:02.35) and 400 individual medley (4:16.85). He also was the runner-up in the 200 backstroke (2:04.22), 200 butterfly (1:58.80) and 500 freestyle (5:19.71).

Hayden White finished second in the 15-and-over backstroke (58.52 seconds), 100 freestyle (52.24 seconds) and 400 individual medley (4:59.52). Brady Wilson was also second in the 13-14 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:25.44 and the open 500 freestyle in 5:33.05.

Colby Harrell was second in the 13-14 50 freestyle in 23.49 seconds, while taking third in the 100 butterfly (56.98 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (51.06).

Lukas Bennett earned a pair of third-place finishes in the 15-and-over division, including the 100 butterfly (58.67 seconds) and the 400 individual medley (5:24.13).

On the girls side, Abigail Warmbrand was third in 11-12-year-old 50 butterfly, finishing in 28.64 seconds.
