Rob Baruth, Tate Deinert to take over SCW girls, boys basketball programs

Baruth and Deinert assume their new roles after the retirement of Tim McCain and the resignation of Matt Henriksen.

FORESTBURG, S.D. — Both Sanborn Central/Woonsocket basketball programs will be under new leadership in 2022-23.

Following the 2021-22 campaigns, Tim McCain retired as coach of the girls program, while Matt Henriksen resigned his post for the boys program.

Sliding into the girls head coaching position is Rob Baruth, while Tate Deinert is set to take over as boys head coach. Baruth and Deinert each served as assistant coaches for their respective teams last season.

Competing in Class A last season, the Blackhawk girls went 15-6 and finished fifth in a stacked Region 5A. On the boys side, SCW went 5-16 and was sixth in Region 5A.
