Mitchell teener baseball roundup: Mitchell Black surges past Sioux Falls West Red
Both Mitchell teener teams won their first games on Friday.

MITCHELL — Led by the all-around performance of Jaxson Hartman and a seven-run fifth inning, the Mitchell Black teener baseball team took down Sioux Falls West Red, 10-2, on Friday.
In addition to getting the start and striking out six batters in five innings, Hartman was one of two Mitchell players to score two runs and drive in another and also swiped two bases. Carter McCormick also had two runs and one RBI with one stolen base and was twice hit by a pitch.
The first seven players in Mitchell’s order each recorded a hit, as Jacob Ebert and Dawson Jonnassen each drive in a pair of runs.
Opposite Hartman, Jackson Warnke struck out three batters in four innings and was one of four Sioux Falls players to record a hit in the game, another being Evan Schoenfelder, who drove in both runs in the second inning.

MITCHELL — A four-run fourth inning proved to be the difference, as the Mitchell White teener baseball team defeated Letcher on Friday.
Lincoln Bottum paced Mitchell’s offense with two hits, two stolen bases and two runs scored, with Dawson Smith, Kyson Hermann and Dayton Adams each tallying one RBI. On the mound, Kaden Allen sent 10 batters down on strikes in six innings.
Leather’s McCoy Schultz had six strikeouts in five innings, while also contributing a hit and one RBI on offense. Bryce Larson had two of the Hawks’ five hits, while Oscar Anderson recorded the other RBI on one hit.
