  • Dakota Wesleyan University men’s basketball at Briar Cliff, 3:45 p.m., at Sioux City, Iowa. 
  • Mitchell Marlins boys hockey at Aberdeen, 12 p.m., at Aberdeen.
  • Mitchell Marlins girls hockey at Aberdeen, 2 p.m., at Aberdeen.

At the Palace

Today, at the Corn Palace, the Mitchell High School boys basketball team hosts Sioux Falls Lincoln.

Time: 7 p.m.

Notes: Mitchell enters this non-conference matchup having won its last five games. The Kernels, ranked No. 3 in this week's South Dakota Prep Media poll , have won each game by at least 13 points and won the last two, against Sturgis and Pierre, by at least 20 points. Mitchell has only one loss in the 2022 calendar year and that came against Harrisburg on Jan. 4. … Sioux Falls Lincoln has lost three of its last five games, but all three of the losses came against formidable Class AA opponents. Lincoln lost to Aberdeen Christian, No. 1-ranked Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Sioux Falls O’Gorman, all teams with winning records. Lincoln most recently edged Sioux Falls Washington 83-81 in triple overtime on Jan. 27, giving the Patriots a 5-5 record entering Saturday’s contest. … The last time these two teams faced one another, Mitchell beat Lincoln 57-45 on Dec. 15, 2020 at the Corn Palace last season.
