Mitchell Christian boys win road game at ORR

Golden Eagles earn sixth win of the season

RAMONA, S.D. — Another standout effort from Aiden Lieber helped Mitchell Christian earn a road victory over Oldham-Ramona/Rutland on Thursday night in a boys basketball game, with the Golden Eagles winning 69-47.

Lieber had 28 points, nine rebounds and seven steals, finishing the night at 9-for-19 on field-goal attempts and 10-for-15 on free throws. Braedon Nebelsick had 15 points, with eight points each from Nahum Anderberg and Syver Enga. Carson Johnson added seven points for Mitchell Christian, which forced 23 steals as a team, with six from Nebelsick.

MCS led 17-11 after one quarter and then outscored ORR 22-10 in the second quarter before holding a 52-40 lead after three frames. The Golden Eagles were 23-for-61 (37.7%) on field goal attempts, 5-for-28 on 3-pointers and 18-for-30 on free throws. It is MCS' second consecutive win and sixth in the last 10 games.

ORR (1-14) was led by 14 points from Caden Hojer, 13 points from Riley Schneider and 10 points from Brayden Hanson. The Raiders were 8-for-22 on free throws and made one 3-pointer.

Mitchell Christian (6-8) plays at the 11-2 Cardinals from Dell Rapids St. Mary on Saturday, Feb. 4.

Golden Eagles doubled up in loss to Raiders

RAMONA, S.D. — Oldahm-Ramona/Rutland earned its sixth win of the season on Thursday night in a 54-26 girls basketball win over Mitchell Christian.

The Raiders led 18-14 at halftime before outscoring Mitchell Christian 21-9 in the third quarter and then 15-3 in the fourth quarter. No other stats were reported from the game.
