PIERRE — After falling in three straight contests, Mitchell Post 18 Junior Legion got back in the win column with a doubleheader sweep of Pierre Post 8 on Tuesday.
Mitchell took the first game 5-2 before matching their Game 1 run total in two separate innings in Game 2 as part of an 11-6 victory.
Post 18 recorded five hits in the contest, all by different batters, with the most impactful knock coming on a Gavin Soukup double that drove in two runs to put Mitchell ahead 3-0 in the third inning.
Parker Mandel also had one run batted in for Post 18, as Blake Brosz picked up the win with a six-inning outing before Tyler Sanderson came in to record the save.
Matthew Brewer had two hits and two RBIs offensively for Pierre, while striking out seven batters in four innings on the mound.

Game 2 saw Mitchell leadoff hitter Karter Sibson notch four hits in five at-bats and score thrice, with Soukup getting the win behind a five-inning, 10-strikeout effort.
Post 18 Junior Legion is scheduled to play a pair of contests at Huron on Saturday before wrapping up its regular season with a single game at Sioux Falls West on Monday.
Mitchell White clipped by Renner
MITCHELL — Renner needed 10 innings to slip past the Mitchell White teeners in Game 1 of a doubleheader and used the momentum to pick up a second win on Tuesday at Drake Field.
Renner outscored Mitchell 3-1 in the 10th inning of the first contest to win 11-9 before claiming Game 2 by a score of 8-1.
Dawson Smith recorded three hits while Lincoln Bottum added two hits and two RBIs in the first contest for Mitchell, which had 12 hits as a team.
In the four-inning second game, Mitchell was held to three hits, with Collin Weir driving in the lone run.
Mitchell White is in action next at the Bob Deery Tournament in Yankton July 15-17.
