MEGA Gymnastics quartet competes at regional USA Gymnastics meet

Region 4 meet was held in Minneapolis from April 22-24

MINNEAPOLIS — Four gymnasts from MEGA Gymnastics put their talents on display at the USA Gymnastics Region 4 Championships held at the Minneapolis Convention Center from April 22-24.

Joslin Sommerville and Ava Prunty placed 10th, while Bentley Bates finished 11th and Alexys Rueb 12th, each in their respective divisions of competition.

Competing in Level 9, Sommerville posted the second-highest vault score at 9.175, tied for the fourth-best mark on beam with 8.925 and had a fifth-place 8.800 on floor as part of her 33.675 total score.

Also competing in Level 9, Bates posted a total score of 33.650, with a top individual mark of 8.975 on the floor, which tied for sixth. She also had a top-10 mark on the beam, with an 8.725 score good for seventh.

In Level 8, Rueb’s 9.025 score on beam was sixth-best, edged only by her floor mark of 9.050 for the largest portion of her 34.425 total.


Prunty’s best mark came on the floor, where 9.475 was the sixth-best score, and a 9.175 score on beam helped her finish with a total score of 35.800 in Level 6.
