Lieber, Nebelsick combine for 49 points as Mitchell Christian boys basketball moves past Gayville-Volin

Lieber led the way with 25 points on 10-for-23 shooting from the field, while Nebelsick poured in 24, connecting on nine of his 15 field-goal attempts and going 6-for-7 at the free-throw line.

GAYVILLE, S.D. — Aiden Lieber and Braedon Nebelsick combined to score 49 points for Mitchell Christian boys basketball in a 65-56 win over Gayville-Volin on Monday.

Lieber led the way with 25 points on 10-for-23 shooting from the field, while Nebelsick poured in 24, connecting on nine of his 15 field-goal attempts and going 6-for-7 at the free-throw line.

The duo accounted for 75% of the Golden Eagles’ points, and Lieber also added eight steals and seven rebounds in the win.

Nahum Anderberg also cracked double-digit points, pouring in 14 on 4-for-5 shooting, knocking down all four of his 3-point attempts. He was the only Golden Eagle to hit a 3, as MCS shot 4-for-14 (28.6%) from behind the arc. Joseph Tegethoff, who scored two points, was the only other player to score for MCS.

MCS knocked down 24 of its 48 (50%) shot attempts, and went 13-for-17 (76.5%) at the free-throw line. The Golden Eagles improved to 5-8 with the win and will take on Oldham-Ramona/Rutland on the road on Thursday, Feb. 2, for their next game.
