CORSICA — Corsica-Stickney pulled away from Kimball/White Lake with a 44-18 first half on the way to a 79-59 boys basketball victory Friday night.
Corsica-Stickney (7-2): Tyson Wentland paced all scorers with 27 points, while Taven Burke and Cole Feenstra added 20 and 14 points, respectively. Robert Nichols grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for the Jaguars, who host Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Jan. 18.
Kimball/White Lake (3-4): Porter Miller led the Wildkats with 23 points, as Jaxon Pursell had a team-best nine rebounds. KWL is at Avon on Jan. 15.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Gregory 56, Burke 52
BURKE — Burke scored 22 fourth-quarter points but couldn’t overcome an 11-point Gregory lead, as the Gorillas notched their fourth win of the season in a boys basketball game Friday night.
Gregory (4-4): Daniel Mitchell posted a 20-point, 19-rebound double-double, while Cruz Klundt scored 17 points. Gregory is at Platte-Geddes on Jan. 17.

Burke (7-2): Ben Witt’s 18 points led the way, with Bryce Frank and Reed Benter each scoring 15 points for the Cougars, who host Gayville-Volin on Jan. 15.
Lyman 41, Stanley County 28 in Murdo: Lyman defeated Stanley County in a semifinal at the Jones County Invitational on Friday night. Individual statistics were not reported. Lyman (5-1) faces off with White River in the tournament finals. Stanley County (5-2) is knocked to the consolation bracket.
