Caden Hinker set to host basketball skills camp in July

The former Mitchell Kernel and soon to be Augustana basketball forward will host a basketball skills camp from July 19-21.

MITCHELL – Former Mitchell Kernel and soon-to-be Augustana basketball forward Caden Hinker is set to host a basketball skills camp on July 19-21.

Recently graduated Kernel basketball star Caden Hinker is set to host a basketball skills camp July 19-21 at the Mitchell High School gym in Mitchell.

The camp will be hosted by Hinker and Mitchell High School boys basketball coach Ryker Kreutzfeldt at the MHS gym in Mitchell.

Hinker just completed his prep career at MHS and averaged 22.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 blocks his senior year. Through his four years as a Kernel, he earned all-Eastern South Dakota conference and all-state honors three times, climbed to sixth all-time in Class AA history for points scored, received the prestigious Spirit of Su award and was named Mitchell Republic’s 2022 boys basketball player of the year.

The camp is open to all boys and girls entering grades 3-8 at a cost of $40 per person. The 3-5 grade boys and girls session will run from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and the 6-8 grade boys and girls session will run from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
