MITCHELL — More winter weather rolling through South Dakota means more postponements and cancelations for area sporting events.
Here’s a look at what’s been impacted.
- Avon’s basketball doubleheader against Alcester-Hudson, originally scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 3, has been postponed to Saturday, Jan. 7.
- Avon’s contests against Colome have also been moved from Monday, Jan. 2, to Monday, Jan. 30.
- Platte-Geddes’ and Corsica-Stickney’s girls basketball game, which was slated to take place on Tuesday, Jan. 3 in Platte, will now be played on Thursday, Jan. 5, in Corsica as part of a girls/boys doubleheader, with the girls game tipping at 6:30 and the boys game following.
- Gregory’s home doubleheader against Andes Central/Dakota Christian that was to be played on Tuesday, Jan. 3, has been postponed.
- Bon Homme’s boys basketball game against Parker has been postponed from its original date of Tuesday, Jan. 3.
- Bridgewater-Emery’s girls basketball game with Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, originally scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 3, has been postponed.
- Freeman's basketball doubleheader with Irene-Wakonda scheduled for Jan. 3 has been moved to Jan. 7 in Freeman.
- The Howard at Freeman doubleheader on Jan. 3 has been moved to Jan. 6 in Menno, with the varsity girls game at 5:45 p.m., and the boys to follow.
- McCook Central/Montrose's girls basketball game with Dell Rapids, originally scheduled for Jan. 3, has been moved to Jan. 16 in Montrose.
