YANKTON — Six different Mitchell Marlins players scored on Friday night in an 8-2 boys hockey win over Yankton.
Esten Schlimgen and Pacxton Denne each scored twice, with Levi Loken, Tyson Sabers, Brody Huls and Tanner Puetz scored, as the Marlins built a 4-0 lead after the opening 17 minutes. Schlimgen and Loken each finished with three points and Kaden Contreras had two assists. Parker Denne added an assist for the Marlins.
Mitchell outshot Yankton, 36-21, for the game, and finished 2-for-5 on power plays, with goals from Loken and Huls. Drake Jerke made 19 saves for the win in net.
Mitchell (5-2-1) play at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Premier Center in Sioux Falls as part of the Sioux Falls Stampede's Hockey Day South Dakota event .
