COLMAN — Sutton Arend had a huge night for Bridgewater-Emery Monday, helping the Huskies to a road win over Colman-Egan in high school basketball action, topping the Hawks 58-30.
Bridgewater-Emery (6-3): Arend finished with 26 points and 13 rebounds in the victory on an 11-for-18 shooting night. Sam Hofer scored 14 points and dealt out five assists. Hunter Bailey had five rebounds for the Huskies, who shot 40.7% from the field and overcame a 7-for-16 free-throw shooting night. B-E also won the rebounding battle, 54-30. The Huskies, who have won three straight games, will travel to Ethan on Jan. 11.
Colman-Egan (0-6): Ben Zwart had a team-high nine points, with eight from Logan Voelker. The Hawks had 21 turnovers and were held to 23.5% shooting in the game. C-E plays at Garretson on Jan. 14.
Girls basketball
Vermillion 52, Bon Homme 42
TYNDALL — Vermillion earned its fifth win in the last six games Monday night in a girls basketball triumph over Bon Homme.
Vermillion (6-2): The Tanagers had 20 points from Brooke Jensen and 12 points from Kasey Hanson. Vermillion next plays Madison on Jan. 11 in Vermillion.

Bon Homme (2-6): Jaden Kortan scored 16 points, while Jurnie Vavruska had 14 points. Olivia Bures had eight rebounds and three steals for the Cavaliers. Bon Homme is back in action on Jan. 13 at Freeman.
