PARKSTON-Down five runs heading to the bottom of the sixth inning, Parkston/Ethan broke through for seven runs to knock off Wagner/Avon in an 8-7 prep baseball win Thursday in Parkston.
Alex Scott knocked in three runs and had a double, while Dawson Semmler and Alec Hohn each had two RBI for the home team. Kyler Holzbauer threw the first 2 2/3 innings, allowing two hits and two earned runs for Parkston/Ethan. Jesse Grosdidier earned the win in relief, tossing 4 1/3 innings, allowing four hits and one earned run, striking out eight. P/E also won the JV game 6-0.
For Wagner/Avon, Jace Faulker had two RBI, Ben Soukup and Nathan Kucera had two runs scored and Emilio Cournoyer had a triple. Tate Wynia started the game on the mound, throwing four innings and allowing one run. Mato Perry took the loss, recording four outs with six earned runs allowed.
Parkston/Ethan (2-0) will host Dakota Valley at 5:30 p.m. today. Wagner/Avon (1-1) is off until April 17, when they host Beresford.
Pierre sweeps Winner/Colome

WINNER-In a meeting between Class A and Class B prep baseball teams, Pierre swept Winner/Colome on Thursday in Winner.
Pierre took the first game 8-5 and won the second game 8-5.
In the opener, Pierre scored a pair of runs in the seventh to squeak past the Royals. Nick Lantz had two hits and Ty Bolton struck out six Govs on the mound. Carter Brickman took the loss in relief, throwing three innings and allowing three runs.
In Game Two, Drew DeMers led the Royals with three hits and three RBIs, while Dalton Baker added a double and Kell O'Bryan had two runs scored.
O'Bryan took the loss on the mound, allowing four unearned runs on two hits with four strikeouts.
Winner/Colome (2-2) plays at Chamberlain at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Gregory County 7, Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 3
GREGORY-On the strength of 11 walks, Gregory County scored seven runs on just four hits for a prep baseball victory over Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 7-3 on Thursday in Gregory.

Grant Thomas had two hits, while Triv Vosika scored twice, as Gregory County scored five times in the fourth inning to reverse a 3-1 C/K/L lead. Jayd VanDerWerff earned the win in relief, pitching 3 1/3 innings, allowing three runs and striking out five. Aaron Sundquist had two shutout innings to open the game.
Remington Rossow and Wyatt Talbot each had two hits in the game, while Talbot scored two runs. C/K/L had a 7-4 edge in hits but left eight men on base. Cole Hickey took the loss for C/K/L, allowing six earned runs in 3 2/3 innings, while striking out nine.
C/K/L (0-4) hosts Winner/Colome on Sunday, with a 7 p.m. game in Chamberlain.
