VERMILLION -- The University of South Dakota women’s basketball team will battle perennial power South Carolina for the third consecutive season, this time as part of The Invitational.

The Sanford Pentagon will host a one-day doubleheader on Nov. 12 and will be televised on ESPN. The Coyotes will face the Gamecocks, a Final Four participant, while last year’s national runner-up Arizona will face Louisville.

South Dakota played then-top-ranked South Carolina in the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic on Thanksgiving, falling 81-71.

The Coyotes are slated to return all five starters from last year’s Summit League championship squad and will also square off with Northwestern, Texas A&M and Pittsburgh in the Paradise Jam during Thanksgiving.
