Parkston places 3rd at West Central Invite

HARTFORD-The Parkston High School boys golf team placed third at the West Central Early Bird Invitational on Monday.

The Trojans carded a 356, finishing just ahead of fourth-place Dakota Valley by one stroke. Lennox won the team title with a 329 and Tea Area placed second with a 344.

Individually, Tea Area's Brock Murphy claimed the title with a 72. Lennox's Eli Cinco and Sioux Falls Christian's Alex VandeGriend tied for second with 77s. Parkston's Quinn Bormann tied for fourth place with an 81, including a tourney-low 36 on the back nine.

Parkston's Payton Koehn (89) and Matt Ehler (92) tied for 17th and 23rd place, respectively. Braden Bruening (94) tied for 32nd place and Carter Kalda (95) finished in 37th for the Trojans. Parkston's Kaleb Weber shot a 100 and finished in 48th place.
