Parkston Mudcat offense explodes in win over Crofton

Parkston scored 14 runs in three innings to blow past Crofton (Neb.) 15-5 in amateur baseball action Wednesday.

PARKSTON -- Parkston scored 14 runs in three innings to blow past Crofton (Neb.) 15-5 in amateur baseball action Wednesday.

Nate Doering and Jeff Harris both went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Mudcats, while Zach Uttecht and Brady Nolz drove in two runs apiece. Dawson Semmler went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Jake Weber was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Dan Bonte, Dylan Mogck and Dillon Stadlman all drove in a run.

Nick Haivala surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and struck out four in six innings for Parkston (3-7).

Jarod Weiblhaus went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for the Bluejays, while Colton Schieffer went 2-for-3. Two Crofton pitchers allowed seven earned runs on 12 hits and 10 walks.

The Mudcats host Mount Vernon at 7 p.m. Sunday.
