Parkston girls stifle Hanson in the second half

ALEXANDRIA--Parkston led host Hanson by one point at halftime on Monday, but the Trojans held last year's Class B runner-up to just two points in the third quarter of a 53-37 win.

ALEXANDRIA-Parkston led host Hanson by one point at halftime on Monday, but the Trojans held last year's Class B runner-up to just two points in the third quarter of a 53-37 win.

Sydney Wickelsham scored a game-high 13 points and Emma Yost scored nine points and snared 12 rebounds in the win, with Parkston holding Hanson just 11 points in the second half. Izzy Hohn also grabbed seven rebounds as the Trojans won the battle on the glass, 41-31.

Megan Guericke scored 10 points and pulled down eight boards, while Mekiah Campbell also had eight rebounds for Hanson (0-2) in defeat. The Beavers host Menno on Friday.

Parkston (2-0) hosts Chamberlain on Friday.
