Parkston/Ethan/Tripp gets two runs in seventh to nip Wagner

Parkston/Ethan/Tripp scored two runs in the top of the seventh to surge past Wagner for a 7-5 win Tuesday in prep baseball action.

WAGNER -- Parkston/Ethan/Tripp scored two runs in the top of the seventh to surge past Wagner for a 7-5 win Tuesday in prep baseball action.

The Red Raiders tied the game 5-5 following an RBI single by Matt Link and a three-run double by Carter Cournoyer in the bottom of the sixth, but PET got back-to-back RBI singles from Logan Heidinger and Max Scott to go ahead for good.

Scott finished the game 4-for-4 with two RBIs for PET (8-3), while Heidinger was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Ty Neugebauer also went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Landon Sudbeck allowed four earned runs on one hit and four walks, while fanning eight in 5 1/3 innings.

Cournoyer went 1-for-2 with three RBIs, while Dustin Honomichl knocked in a run for Wagner (1-5). Honomichl, Link and Ayden Bruguier combined to allow five earned runs on nine hits and four walks, while striking out four.

PET hosts Scotland/Menno Friday in Parkston. The Red Raiders play Elk Point-Jefferson Friday in Elk Point.
