MADISON — A strong performance from Parkston's Payton Koehn and Quinn Bormann helped the Parkston Trojans to a third-place finish Tuesday at the Madison Invitational boys golf tournament.
Koehn shot a round of 79, good for a tie for third place among 83 individuals at the Madison Country Club, while teammate Quinn Bormann shot an 81 to finish in sixth place individually.
Tea Area's Keeton Newborg shot a 5-over-par round of 76 to earn medalist honors, two shots ahead of Eric Munson, who fired a 78. The Titans won the team competition with a score of 328, followed by West Central's team score of 343 and Parkston in third with 349 strokes.
Winner finished sixth as a team with a score of 386, led by Karson Keiser, who carded an 87, good for a tie for 11th individually. Chamberlain was 11th with 408 team strokes, but Dakota Munger's round of 85 was ninth individually.
