Pairings for region basketball tournaments were released on Sunday as postseason action continues this week.

The opening region tourney games begin on Monday and continues throughout the week. In boys action, Class B and Class A region play starts. In girls play, Class A postseason begins. The Class B girls played region tournaments last week. The Class AA girls SoDak 16 state-qualifying games are Friday, while the boys are Saturday.

Start times are 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

In Region 3B, No. 8 seed Wessington Springs hosts No. 9 Hitchcock-Tulare on Monday, with the winner playing No. 1 seed De Smet on Tuesday.

In Region 4B, No. 8 seed Howard hosts No. 9 Ethan and the winner plays No. 1 seed Hanson in Alexandria on Tuesday. No. 4 Sanborn Central/Woonsocket hosts No. 5 Elkton-Lake Benton on Tuesday. No. 6 Mitchell Christian travels to face No. 3 Colman-Egan on Tuesday. The Region 4B semifinals will be at the Corn Palace on Friday.

In Region 5B, No. 9 Freeman Academy/Marion plays No. 8 Alcester-Hudson on Monday in Alcester, with the winner playing No. 1 Bridgewater-Emery on Tuesday in Emery. No. 7 Menno hosts No. 10 Centerville on Monday in the other first round contest. The winner faces No. 2 seed Viborg-Hurley on Tuesday in Hurley. No. 3 Canistota hosts No. 6 Freeman on Tuesday.

In Region 6B, No. 8 Burke hosts No. 9 Scotland on Monday and No. 7 Gregory hosts Avon in the other first round game. The Burke-Scotland winner plays No. 1 Colome on Tuesday. The Gregory vs. Avon winner plays No. 2 Kimball/White Lake on Tuesday. No. 3 Corsica-Stickney hosts No. 6 Tripp-Delmont/Armour on Tuesday in Corsica.

In Region 7B, Lyman is the No. 5 seed and it plays at No. 4 Kadoka Area on Tuesday. White River is the No. 1 seed in the region.

Winner is the No. 3 seed in Region 7A and it hosts No. 6 St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Pine Ridge is the No. 1 seed and it plays No. 4 Little Wound vs. No. 5 Todd County winner on Friday. In Region 6A, Chamberlain is the No. 2 seed and it plays McLaughlin in the first round. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte is the No. 1 seed and it plays Miller vs. Stanley County winner.

In Region 5A, No. 4 McCook Central/Montrose plays No. 5 Parkston on Tuesday in Tyndall. No. 2 Bon Homme plays No. 7 Wagner on Tuesday in Tyndall. No. 3 Platte-Geddes hosts No. 6 Mount Vernon/Plankinton on Tuesday in Platte.

In girls play, No. 4 Parker plays No. 5 Wagner at 6 p.m. Monday in Parkston in the Region 5A opener. The winner plays No. 1 seed McCook Central/Montrose on Thursday in Salem. No. 2 Mount Vernon/Plankinton hosts No. 7 Platte-Geddes in Plankinton, while No. 3 Parkston plays No. 6 Bon Homme at 8 p.m. on Monday.

In Region 6A, Miller is the No. 1 seed and it plays the No. 4 Chamberlain vs. No. 5 Mobridge-Pollock winner on Thursday.

Winner is the No. 1 seed in Region 7A and it hosts the No. 4 Red Cloud vs. No. 5 Little Wound winner on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
