Mitchell High School senior Mark Novak was named to the Eastern South Dakota Conference boys soccer first-team on Monday.
Novak, a defender, was the lone Kernel honored on the team. Mitchell finished the season 1-7 in the ESD and 2-10-1 overall.

The Golden Eagles used their height, as well as free-throw shooting, to go on a 13-0 run and pick up a win over the Kernel girls Tuesday at the Corn Palace.
