Light snow and wind will impact the eastern Dakotas and Minnesota on Friday. Snow amounts will stay on the lighter side. I'm seeing those that actually have the snow showers picking up less than two inches of fresh new snow. The main impacts will be the breeze blowing around the snow as it falls.
By the evening hours the snow will be sliding eastward across Minnesota. Again, most will see less than 2 inches of snow, but with the wind blowing strong out of the south and southwest it could lead to blowing and drifting snow.
Most of Saturday will be relatively quiet with lighter winds. Another weak and quick moving wave of light snow is forecast to slide through the second half of the day.
Snow will move by the second half of the day. This wave looks to produce less than 2 inches of new snow again. Best shot of seeing snow looks to be the eastern Dakotas and western Minnesota later on Saturday.
After Friday's snow we can expect a quieter and cooler Saturday. One nice thing is that our winds are looking lighter for the bulk of the area on Saturday. Doesn't look like you'll have to chase your hub across the lake because of the wind.

Temperatures will be chilly in northeastern North Dakota and northern Minnesota on Sunday. Another clipper is forecast to move in the second half of the day bringing yet our third chance of snow in the area this weekend.
This third clipper will bring light snow to the Red River Valley and northern Minnesota the second half of Sunday. New snow with this round will stay light again with most seeing less than three inches of snow.
