The state champion Canistota football team dominated the Cornbelt Conference's all-conference team, which was announced Monday.

The Hawks-which won the Class 9A state title and capped an undefeated season-had eight selections on the first team, including senior Jerad Nielsen, who was named the conference's most valuable player. Joining Nielsen on the first team for Canistota was quarterback Shay Jolley, offensive linemen Jonathan Dick, Noah Sandman and Xavier Ward, tight end Scott Jolley, defensive lineman Kasey Buse and linebacker Drew Seubert.

Mount Vernon/Plankinton had five first-team selections, including wide receiver Tate Deinert, fullback Tanner Risseeuw, linebackers Jacob Stange and Devin Rihanek and defensive back Hayden Schmidt.

For Hanson, running back Wyatt Kayser and defensive linemen Nathan Stewart both made the first team for the Beavers. For Howard, defensive linemen Dane Dornbusch and Michael Hofer both made the first team.

Jackson Diede was the lone first-team representative for Menno/Marion.
