NAIA polls: DWU men stay at No. 6, women drop

The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s basketball team stayed at No. 6 in the latest NAIA Division II poll, while the Tiger women dropped six spots.

The DWU men have opened the season with a 6-0 mark and have three wins over teams that were either ranked or receiving votes in the preseason poll. Great Plains Athletic Conference member Morningside College is No. 2 in the latest poll. Other GPAC teams in this week’s poll include: No. 23 Dordt College, Northwestern (receiving votes) and Mount Marty (receiving votes).

The Tigers will play at the St. Francis Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday and Sunday in Joliet, Illinois.

The Tiger women fell from No. 7 in the preseason poll to No. 13 in the latest edition. DWU is 6-2, with losses coming against No. 5 Dordt and Jamestown (receiving votes). DWU plays at Presentation College on Dec. 2.

GPAC member Concordia is No. 1 in the poll. Other GPAC teams in this week’s poll include: No. 5 Dordt, No. 6 Hastings, No. 8 Morningside, No. 11 Northwestern and Jamestown (receiving votes).
