The rematch is set.
The Renner Monarchs blanked Circus Sports Bar 5-0 on Saturday during a semifinals elimination game of the Class A state amateur tournament at Cadwell Park.
Renner will now play the Sioux Falls Brewers at noon Sunday in the Class A championship game at Cadwell Park.
It will be the third time in four seasons the Monarchs and Brewers will play in the state championship. Renner beat Sioux Falls in 2013 and again in last season's title title. The Monarchs will be making their 14th straight appearance in the title game.
Renner and Sioux Falls will also be playing for the second time in three days. The Brewers defeated Renner 9-6 on Friday with a three-run, walk-off home run from Nick Bruning.
The Monarchs had little trouble with Circus Sports Bar (Aberdeen) in Saturday's semifinal contest. Renner's Derek Quame gave up just four hits and struck out six batters in the complete game shutout.
Renner scored a run in the second on a Brian McGuire RBI double. In the fifth inning, David Borchardt cracked a two-RBI double to left field and Erik DeJong later hit an RBI single to score Borchardt. McGuire added an RBI single to score DeJong in the seventh.
Zach Reierson took the loss for Circus Sports Bar. He gave up 10 hits, allowed four earned runs and struck out one in 4 1/3 innings of work.
Chad Ellingson had two hits for Circus Sports Bar, while Spencer Sudbeck had the other hit.
