Modern Woodmen of America is setting out to help Barb Christensen on July 7.
At the Cadwell Park Sports Complex, Modern Woodmen is hosting a fundraiser starting at 2 p.m. with all proceeds going to Christensen’s medical bills. Christensen has been hospitalized since April 22 with head injuries.
“Barb Christensen had a medical thing happen, so we’re doing a fundraiser to help pay for medical bills,” Modern Woodmen volunteer leader Michelle Sheesley said. “... Modern Woodmen will be matching funds up to $2,500.”
Five youth baseball games will be played starting at 2 p.m. on Diamonds H and K, which is located on the west side of the softball complex fields. Admission is $5, with smoked pork loin sandwiches, chips and drinks being sold for $6.
The Mitchell Mad Dog 6U baseball team faces Canova at 2 p.m. to kick off the fundraiser. The 8U team takes on Canova and the 11U team takes on Pony Hills with both games starting at 3 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., the 9U team faces Canova and the 10U team plays Pony Hills to close out the fundraiser.
