YANKTON -- The Sanford Golf Series’ latest stop on Monday at Hillcrest Golf and Country Club saw Mitchell’s Masy Mock pick up a top-five finish.
Mock shot an 11-over-par 84 to tie with Sioux Falls’ Lauren Sutcliffe for fourth. Shannon McCormick, of Sioux Falls, won the event with an 81. Beresford’s Maiya Muller shot an 82 to take second and Sisseton’s Kelsey Heath finished third by carding an 83.
Mock shot nine pars in the round, including four straight to end. She had six pars on the back nine.
The tour continues on June 29-30 at Arrowhead Country Club in Rapid City.
Dannenbring, Fogel earns title in Pierre
There were multiple events on Monday for the junior tour, including an event at Hillsview Golf Course in Pierre and the Arrowhead Country Club in Rapid City.

In Pierre, Quinn Dannenbring, of Mitchell, won the 14-15 year-old girls division by six strokes. She shot an 85, which included six pars.
Gregory’s Eli Fogel tied with Huron’s Landon Roberts for the 14-15 year-old boys division title. He shot a nine-over-par 81. He carded nine pars, including four straight on Holes No. 14 through 17. Mitchell’s Jackson Childs carded 91 strokes to place fourth.
Mitchell’s Maddie Childs shot a 109 to tie for third among 12-13 year-old girls. Burke’s Olivia Bull (118) finished nine strokes behind in sixth. Miller’s Jayce Pugh won the division with 95 strokes. In the 12-13 boys group, Burke’s Quinten Bull shot a 99 to take eighth. Fort Pierre’s Sawyer Sonnenschein won the event by one stroke with a one-over-par 73.
In the 16-18 boys division, Cameron Caldwell, of Chamberlain, tied for fifth with a 10-over-par 82. Sioux Falls’ Bennett Geraets shot a 78 to win the division. Chamberlain had another top finisher in Delaney Peterson, who took sixth among 16-18 year-old girls. Pierre’s Ellie Jo Simpson won on her home course with an 89.
Mitchell’s Asher Dannenbring shot a two-over-par 38 to place second in the 10-11 boys nine-hole division. Rapid City’s Vincent Vanliere won by one stroke.
In Rapid City, Mitchell’s Jaxson Hartman shot a 104 and placed eighth among 12-13 boys.
The junior tour continues on Wednesday at the Broadland Creek National Golf Course in Huron.
