BROOKINGS - Mitchell's Laurel Patton finished first in her division at the South Dakota State U.S. Bowling Center Women's Tournament, which concluded Sunday at Prairie Lanes in Brookings and was played over four weeks.
Patton was the top-finisher in the handicap all-events division, racking up a score of 2,160 out of a field of more than 100 bowlers. Lana Stremick, of Armour, finished in third place, while Lacey Schimke, of Wessington Springs, finished sixth. Melanie Suelflow, of Mitchell, was seventh in the division.
In the team handicap division, the Hohn Office Solutions team of Salem won with a score of 2,674. Beth Hohn, Barb Bartman, Shannon Peterson and Lori Smart made-up the foursome.
Kimberly Kluth, of Mitchell, was second in the special scratch division, with a score of 873 and was fifth in the scratch all-events division.
Gretchen Munger and Heidi Mendenhall, of Mitchell, finished fourth in the doubles handicap division with a score of 1,368.
