A Mitchell youth boys basketball team won the Mid America Youth Basketball South Sioux City Shootout tournament on Sunday.

The Mitchell Elite 13 and Under team defeated the Pentagon-Brock 43-19 and the Dakota Ballers 50-26 on Saturday.

On Sunday, Mitchell beat Pentagon-Herther 39-21 and the Iowa Extreme 46-40 to advance to the championship game, where the Mitchell Elite beat the BBA Force 48-44 for the title.

Team members include Ben Helleloid, Zane Alm, Kelton Vincent, Gage Renken, Lucas Moller, Noah Swenson, Jake Swenson, Nick Rubendall, Kaden Geppert and Parker Bollinger. The team is coached by former Dakota Wesleyan University standout Trae Bergh.

The team will compete in six tournaments this summer and plays in the Xtreme Hoops Showcase June Jam this weekend in Sioux Falls.
