BISMARCK, N.D. -- The Mitchell Legion baseball team fell to Bismarck, N.D.Thursday night 5-2.
Derek Miller took the loss for Mitchell. He pitched seven innings and gave up five runs on 10 hits.
Miller didn't allow a run until the seventh inning when Bismarck broke a scoreless tie with five runs.
"We pitched the ball and played defense
really well we just couldn't get anything going offensively," Mitchell coach Luke Norden said.

"We had opportunities to get on the board early," he added. "If we would have taken advantage the outcome probably would have been different."
Jared Schmidt went 2-for-4, Kirby Fuerst was 1-for-2 with a sac fly and a single and Josh Schmidt had an RBI single for Mitchell, which didn't get on the board until the ninth inning.
Mitchell fell to 7-3 with the loss and is back in action today when it plays Minot, N.D. at noon in Mandan, N.D.
