YANKTON -- The Mitchell Legion team fell to Yankton 4-1 in Post 18 baseball action Wednesday night in Yankton.

Josh Schmidt took the loss for Mitchell. He threw 6 2/3 innings, gave up four runs -- only one earned -- struck out one batter and gave up five hits. Kirby Fuerst hit a solo home run and Mitchell had five hits as a team.

Mitchell is now 12-9 and is back in action on Friday when it hosts Vermillion for a doubleheader at Cadwell Park in Mitchell. The first game is set for 5 p.m.
