MADISON -- The Mitchell High School tennis team went 2-1 at the Madison Quad on Saturday.
"The wind was brutal," Mitchell coach Gayle Klein said. "The day was all about who could best deal with it."
Mitchell is 5-4 on the season.
The Kernels won all nine matches against Madison for a 9-0 win. Tyler Osterloo, Jesse Gebel, Taylor Moore, Tate Crago, Jacob Cersosimo and Beau Brown all won their singles' matches. Alex Hegg won two extra matches and teamed up with Kanin Nelson for an extra doubles' win.
Watertown beat Mitchell 7-2. Moore picked up a singles' win for the Kernels with a 8-3 win and Crago and Brown won their doubles' match. Hegg won his extra singles' match.

Mitchell defeated Yankton by a score of 6-3 as Gebel, Moore, Cersosimo and Brown won their singles' matches. Moore and Cersosimo teamed up for a doubles' win along with Crago and Brown.
