MITCHELL — The Mitchell High School football team has placed a pair of events on this week’s calendar.

From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, the Kernel Card Blitz will see MHS football players sell discount cards throughout the community for $20 apiece.

To cap the week, the MHS football program will host a combined freshman, junior varsity and varsity scrimmage scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, August 19. The event will serve as a Gatorade and Powerade drive for the team, with the sports drink serving as admittance into the scrimmage and to be consumed throughout the fall.

The 2022 schedule gets underway starting next week, as the junior varsity makes a trip to Yankton on Monday, with the Bucks’ varsity making the trip to Mitchell for both teams' season opener Friday, Aug. 26.
