The 27th annual Poormans Fishing Tournament is set to take place June 10 at Lake Mitchell.

The event is open to the first 40 registered teams. The entry fee is $40 per two-man teams and all entries must be received by June 8.

The tournament has been filled for 12 straight years and cash prizes are awarded from first to 11th place. A trophy and $100 prize is also given for the largest fish.

The tournament will run from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. with tournament headquarters located at the old boat dock by the golf course on Lake Mitchell. Check-in time for the event is set for 6:45 a.m. for a short meeting before the fishing begins.

All state and federal laws apply during competition. Winning teams must be present at the weigh-ins to claim their prizes. Weigh-in is scheduled for 2 p.m. sharp.
