BROOKINGS -- Mitchell finished sixth in cheer in the Brookings Invitational competitive cheer and dance competition on Saturday at the Swiftel Center. Mitchell’s dance team did not travel to the event.
Mitchell cheer finished just outside of the top five with 219 points. O’Gorman won the cheer title with 283 points, beating out Sioux Falls Roosevelt with 266.5 points. Sioux Valley came in third with 266 points, Sioux Falls Jefferson came in fourth with 261 points and Brandon Valley finished fifth with 220.5 points.
The Mitchell cheer team competes in the Huron Cheer & Dance Invitational on Sept. 21 at the Huron Arena.
