Emily Reynen's double-double helped the Mitchell Christian girls basketball team top Sioux Falls Christian 34-23 on Saturday in Mitchell.
Reynen finished the game with 18 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and three assists, while Abbie Reynen chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds for MCS. The Golden Eagles made 11 field goals and went 9-of-13 from the foul line in the win.
"It felt good to finish out our week with a win," MCS head coach Jackie Van Laecken said. "We struggled to get our rhythm the first half but the girls came out fighting the second half."
Kylee Van Egdom led SFC with nine points and six rebounds. The Chargers made seven field goals and went 6-of-12 from the free throw line in the loss.
"Defensively, the girls did a good job keeping them out of the paint," Van Laecken said. "Offensively, we did a better job attacking the basket and getting our shots to fall."
