IROQUOIS -- The Mitchell Christian girls basketball team held Iroquois scoreless in the first quarter en route to a 50-10 victory on Friday in Iroquois.
Golden Eagles head coach Jackie Van Laecken said her team made a complete performance.
"The team had a nice, balanced attack tonight," Van Laecken said. "Almost every girl scored, and the team shared the ball real well."
MCS was led by Ashley Schmit and Kelsey Thompson, who each scored 14 points. Lindsay Thompson added five steals, nine rebounds, six assists and nine points, while Emily Reynen scored six points.
"We put a little pressure on the ball and got some turnovers," Van Laecken said. "We just played good team ball tonight."

The Golden Eagles (2-0) take on Wessington Springs at 6:30 p.m. today in Mitchell.
"We just have to keep growing and learning from each game," Van Laecken said. "We'll continue to get better."
