HURON -- The Mitchell Christian boys basketball team used a fast start to notch a 56-47 win over James Valley Christian on Friday.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 15-9 lead at the end of the first quarter, and then extended it to 32-16 by halftime. JVC outscored Mitchell Christian in the second half, but the Golden Eagles were able to hold on for a nine-point win.
Four Golden Eagles scored in double figures, as Aiden Lieber paced them with 15 points. Max Reynen added 14 points and nine rebounds, while Micah Frey chipped in 12 points and nine boards. Nathanael Anderberg scored 10 points and Anders Enga pulled down 12 boards in the win.
Landon Wallman poured in 27 points for the Vikings. Landon Wager scored 14 points.
The Golden Eagles (3-12) play Wolsey-Wessington on Monday in Wolsey. The Vikings (2-15) host Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Monday.
