Mitchell Black swept by Yankton

Mitchell Black struggled to contain Yankton's offense as it was swept in a teener baseball doubleheader on Friday at Drake Field. Mitchell lost 10-3 in the first game, then fell 22-5 in Game 2 in three innings.

Mitchell Black struggled to contain Yankton's offense as it was swept in a teener baseball doubleheader on Friday at Drake Field. Mitchell lost 10-3 in the first game, then fell 22-5 in Game 2 in three innings.

In Game 1, Dylan Soulek went 2-for-4 with two RBIs as Mitchell was held to five hits.

Meanwhile, Yankton racked up 11 hits, with Michael Mors earning the win. He struck out five and allowed two earned runs in a three-inning start. Cooper Grotenhuis gave up an earned run in the final four innings.

Yankton plated 16 runs in the second inning of the second game, with it finishing with 13 hits. Soulek picked up two more hits and drove in a run. Noah Larson also drove in a pair of runs.

Josh Sheldon picked up the win for Yankton, allowing five earned runs in a three-inning start.

Mitchell (0-4) plays a 4 p.m. doubleheader at Pierre on Tuesday.
