BROOKINGS -- Mitchell native Macy Miller scored a career- and game-high 23 points but it was not enough Wednesday night.
The South Dakota State University women's basketball team had its five-game winning streak snapped in a 77-75 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay at Frost Arena in Brookings.
Miller, a freshman point guard, shot 8-of-16 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers. She added four rebounds and three assists. Sophomore and Mitchell native Kerri Young was second for SDSU in scoring with 14 points, including two threes. Megan Waytashek added 10 points for the Jackrabbits, who shot 26-of-52 from the field and 14-of-22 from the line. SDSU won the rebounding battle 32-28 but committed 17 turnovers. Green Bay had 10 turnovers.
Green Bay, which was 26-of-51 from the field and 23-of-31 from the line, was led by Mehryn Kraker with 17 points.
SDSU (8-2) looks to bounce back against Middle Tennessee State University at 7 p.m. Monday in Brookings.
