Miller scores 20, SDSU knocks off No. 25 Arkansas on road

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- South Dakota State freshman and Mitchell native Macy Miller scored a career-high 20 points to help lift the Jackrabbits to an 80-75 win over No. 25 Arkansas on Thursday.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- South Dakota State freshman and Mitchell native Macy Miller scored a career-high 20 points to help lift the Jackrabbits to an 80-75 win over No. 25 Arkansas on Thursday.

SDSU trailed by four at halftime, but it battled back in the second half. Chynna Stevens hit one of her four 3-pointers as time ran out in regulation to force overtime. The Jackrabbits, who have won four straight, outscored the Razorbacks 16-11 in overtime. SDSU's last road win over a ranked opponent was Dec. 9, 2008, at Minnesota.

Ten of Miller's 20 points came at the free throw line, and she added three assists. SDSU sophomore and former Kernel Kerri Young recorded seven points, including a three-point basket, three rebounds and two assists. Stevens recorded 17 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, Megan Waytashek had 14 points and four rebounds and Mariah Clarin added 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Jackrabbits shot 25-of-55 from the floor for 45 percent and knocked down seven of 16 three-point shots. Arkansas shot 24-of-65 from the field for 37 percent and outrebounded SDSU 41-36.

Kelsey Brooks scored a game-high 28 points, Jhasmin Bowen had 20 points and nine rebounds and Melissa Wolff grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds for Arkansas, which suffered its first loss of the season.

The Jackrabbits continue its road trip against Northern Colorado at 3 p.m. Saturday in Greeley, Colo.
