Middle-weight run sends Burke/Gregory past Chamberlain


GREGORY -- With Chamberlain leading 15-7 heading into the 138-pound match, Burke/Gregory rattled off wins in seven of the next eight dual matches en route to a 45-27 win on Tuesday.

Mason Hood started the Storm run with an 8-0 major decision over Garret Ristau and Jackson Eklund followed with a fall on Cody Skustad in 3 minutes, 5 seconds at 145 pounds. Jordan Voiska added a 10-0 major decision against Swade Reis at 152.

Following a Chamberlain forfeit at 160, Finn Hanson pinned Noah Hutmacher in 41 seconds. Jasiah Thompson ended the run for the Cubs, pinning Tucker Even in 3:22 at 182, but a forfeit at 195 and a Rhoss Oliver pin on Ruger Forester at 220 in 4:57 sealed the win for the Storm.

Nash Hutmacher extended his consecutive pin streak to 53 with an 11-second fall over Kyle Grim at 285 for Chamberlain (0-3). Trey Neilan (126) and Gabe Skustad (132) also had pins for the Cubs.

Burke/Gregory (4-2) competes in the West Holt Invitational on Saturday in Atkinson, Nebraska. Chamberlain hosts the River City Rumble on Jan. 24.
