Mentele, Reif lead MCM at SV Invite

VOLGA -- McCook Central/Montrose's Kayla Mentele and Taylor Reif each shot rounds of 97 to finish in the top 10 at the Sioux Valley golf invitational at Meadow Creek Golf Course in Volga.

VOLGA - McCook Central/Montrose's Kayla Mentele and Taylor Reif each shot rounds of 97 to finish in the top 10 at the Sioux Valley golf invitational at Meadow Creek Golf Course in Volga.

Mentele finished fifth and Reif was sixth, while Howard's Jordan Glanzer was ninth with a round of 103. Katie Reif finished in 12th place with a round of 111 for MCM. Deubrook had the top Class B girls score with 268 strokes and Sioux Valley shot 413 as a team as the top Class A girls team. Kayla Ovall, of Deubrook, was the medalist, shooting 82. Neither Howard or MCM had enough golfers place as a team.

Howard competed in the boys competition, with Brayden Schumaker as the top Tiger, shooting 122 over 18 holes. Garretson was the top Class B team, shooting 255 to top Deubrook by nine strokes.
