MCS girls fall to Lower Brule on the road


LOWER BRULE -- Lower Brule pulled away in the second half on Tuesday to top the Mitchell Christian girls basketball team, 48-30.

The Sioux (8-3) led 8-6 after the first quarter and 18-15 at halftime. In the second half, they scored 30 points, while the Golden Eagles were held to 15.

Caleigh Little scored 14 points and Bariah LaRoche added 12 points. Justina Brouse-Grassrope and Teneyah LaRoche each added six points.

For Mitchell Christian, Erica Thompson scored 10 points. Jocelyn Baas and Whisper Eben each chipped in six points.

Mitchell Christian (4-7) hosts Ethan on Thursday.
